On May 12th, UCA (American Chinese Association) recently started an activity in more than 100 cities in 50 states across the United States to donate “loving lunches or food” to medical personnel including doctors and nurses who are trying their best to save patients’ lives. What’s more, they also provide food for the homeless people. The Covid-19 Relief Bay Area, a aid association based in San Francisco Bay Area, responded to UCA’s charity action of the “Loving Food Day” to deliver “loving food” to front-line medical staff.
Yuan Wen, one of the promoters of the Bay Area mutual aid association for Fighting New Coronavirus, introduced that May is the Asian American Traditional Month and the Chinese Railway Memorial Day is in May. In response to the charity action of Loving Food Day started by the National Chinese Alliance, the attending Chinese of the aid association purchased 600 foods such as water, fruit, biscuits and box lunches for medical care at the Kaiser Hospital in Santa Clara County, San Francisco Bay Area Staff, thank them for sticking to the front line to protect all the residues.
According to reports, the aid association in Bay Area is composed of 29 units including the Qiaolu Foundation, Shandong, Hunan, Nanjing, Jiangsu Association and Chamber of Commerce, Lianyi Association, and Berkeley Global Alumni Association.
